Ireland - Celtic Challenge Winners 2011
Over the weekend of 1st and 2nd October 2011 the Irish Endurance Team traveled to Builth Wells, Wales and the Red Dragon Endurance Festival, to try and regain the Home International and Celtic Challenge Trophies again.
This year the Irish Team, lead by Chef d’Equipe Cora Roche, won the Celtic Challenge competition with the Home International Trophy going to the host nation, Wales with Ireland finishing 3rd.
The weather conditional in Wales were extreme with the hottest ever recorded temperatures for October (just under 30 degrees on the Saturday) making the competition a real test of endurance. Congratulations are due to everyone who managed to complete there rides in such extreme conditions. The Irish Celtic Challenge Team consisted of:
