Statement from Board of Directors (June 2019)

21 Jun 19

ILDRA's board of directors has been informed of Horse Sport Ireland's unilateral decision to remove ILDRA as the recognised Endurance affiliate in Ireland.

ILDRA has a long and honourable history of serving the endurance community as recognised affiliate, with both Horse Sport Ireland and the Equestrian Federation of Ireland and the board of directors would like to place on record their thanks to those members who have given unstintingly of their time and effort in this endeavour, often at significant personal or financial cost, over many years.

While expressing regret at Horse Sport Ireland's decision, ILDRA, with almost 30 years experience in endurance management, will continue to run a full programme of rides, training and social events and represent its members interests in Ireland and elsewhere.

Competitive endurance rides adjudicated by veterinary surgeons will still be recognised by Horse Sport Ireland for the purposes of FEI qualifications.

The board will shortly be in touch directly with all current Irish FEI endurance riders, regarding their position and the membership as a whole will be kept advised of any developments.
